Information on ABR

Available bitrate is a service class for asynchronous transfer mode networks (ATM networks) in which the peak cell rate is dictated by the network (compared with the reserved fixed-bandwidth availability using unconstrained bit rate (UBR), CBR, also called FBR, and VBR).

Other topics in our resources on Communications Systems related to ABR include:

  • Constant bit rate (CBR)
  • unconstrained bit rate (UBR)
  • variable bit rate (VBR)
  • Broadband integrated services digital network (BISDN)
  • Cell relay
