Information on coax

A coax is a transmission medium normally consisting of one central conductor enclosed within a conductive sheath, separated by a dielectric. coax has a much wider bandwidth than twisted pair cable and can therefore carry high data rates. Since the signal is confined within the cable, coaxs have low attenuation. Additionally, there is little opportunity for external noise to intrude into the signal.
