Information on CSMA/CA

CSMA/CA is a refinement of carrier-sense mulitple access (CSMA) in which a station uses a collision avoidance (CA) technique to avoid collisions. Once a station detects that the shared channel is free, it waits a fixed time plus a random amount before transmitting. Used by the AppleTalk protocol.
