Information on Balanced-to-unbalanced Converter (BALUN)

A balanced-to-unbalanced converter (BALUN) that converts between a balanced transmission line and an unbalanced line. For example a balun is used to connect the balanced television flat ribbon cable to the unbalanced coaxial connector at the back of the television.
