Information on Bridge

A bridge is a data-link layer (Layer 2) device that interconnects two local area networks (LANs). Bridges operate at the data-link layer and therefore can only interconnect local area networks of the same type. Bridges read the destination and source addresses in the packets or frames and forward them on to another local area network depending on the address.
