Information on Network layer

The network layer is layer 3 of the ISO OSI 7-layer model. Responsible for routing data through a communication network. The network layer is responsible for end-to-end message routing. Layer 3 protocols specify how addresses are assigned and how packets are forwarded from one end of the network to another.
