Information on Reed-Solomon code (RS code)

The Reed-Solomon code (RS code) is an important subclass of non-binary BCH error-correcting codes in which the encoder operates on multiple bits rather than individual bits. Reed-Solomon codes are therefore ideally suited to use with m-ary modulation.

Other topics in our resources on Communications Systems related to Reed-Solomon code include:

  • block code
  • Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem code (BCH codes)
