Information on Super high frequency (SHF)

The super-high-frequency (SHF) band is a radio-frequency (RF) band in the range 3-30 GHz. SHF and EHF are known as the microwave bands and their wavelengths are short enough to be propagated by highly directional antennas and waveguides. Propagation ranges are limited to line-of-sight but long-distance communication can be achieved by employing a series of radio relay stations. These portions of the spectrum are used for television and high-speed data services requiring large bandwidths.
