Information on Telegraphy

Literally, telegraphy means "writing at a distance". Telegraphy was the first major form of communication using Morse code to transfer information via the on-off keying of a carrier. More sophisticated forms include telex. Telegraphy has been largely overtaken by higher-capacity data techniques.
