Information on Active Antenna

An active antenna includes electronics to optimise the performance of the antenna. An important feature of many types of active antenna is to allow efficient operation across a broad frequency range, and to provide a low noise amplifier for weak signals. The low noise amplified in an active antenna is mounted with the antenna itself to minimise the impact of interfering signals.
Unlike other types of antenna, an active antenna requires its own power supply.
