Information on HF Log Periodic Antenna

An HF log-periodic antenna is a broadband self-tuning antenna. The HF log periodic antenna consists of a number of parallel active elements arranged in order of length, with the shortest at one end and the longest at the other.. At the lowest frequency of operation, the longest element of the HF log periodic antenna is resonant, and all other elements act as directors. At the highest frequency, the shortest element resonates and the other (longer) elements act as reflectors In the middle of the frequency band, one of the other elements of the HF log periodic antenna is resonant; elements shorter than the resonant element act as directors; and elements longer than the resonant element act as reflectors.
