Information on Horn Antenna

A horn antenna couples energy between free space and a waveguide. An important function of the horn antenna is impedance matching.
A horn antenna is often used as a microwave antenna.
Horn antennas are usually optimised to work in a particular band. For example, in a satellite antenna, a horn antenna is often placed at the focus of a parabolic antenna. A different horn antenna would usually be used in each of the X band, C band, Ku band and Ka band.
