Information on Inverted V Antenna

An inverted-V antenna is a travelling-wave antenna with high gain. It is a broadband antenna that requires a lot of space, but only one mast. The base of the V is connected to the top of the mast. The end of one of the arms of the V is connected to ground via a terminating resistances, while the end of the other arm is connected to the antenna feeder. The inverted-V antenna is an excellent antenna for static locations. On flat ground the inverted-V antenna radiates mainly surface wave, but can be used to generate space wave if erected on a hill. The inverted-V antenna can be used as an HF antenna although a high mast is required.
