A dipole antenn is formed by splitting the two wires
of a two-wire transmission line, and bending them back to
form a single straight line. The antenna feed is in
the middle of the dipole antenna, where the split occurs.
A VHF dipole antenna is a narrowband antenna, operating
efficiently in only a narrow band of frequencies. A VHFdipole
antenna is a resonant antenna.
