Appliances Glossary

Cleaning. Appliances to help with cleaning around the home include:

Heaters and Coolers. Many different types of home heatersand coolers are available. Each has its own advantages and limitations.

Heating and Cooling. Many different types of home heating and cooling are available. Each has its own advantages and limitations.

Hot Water. Modern hot water systems heat and distribute hot water around the home.

Kitchen. Kitchen appliances include: the refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher

cooktop

oven

kettle, toaster, bread maker, sandwich maker, food processors and similar appliances, and coffee making appliances.

Lighting. Several different types of lighting accessories are available:

Rangehood. A rangehood is used to extract hot, humid air from a kitchen.

Side by Side Refrigerator. A Side by Side Refrigerator keeps food and drink cool. A Side by Side Refrigerator also incorporates a freezer, which is located side-by-side with the fridge compartment.

Steamer. A steamer a type of cooking appliance, often used for cooking vegetables.

Upside Down Refrigerator. An Upside Down Refrigerator keeps food and drink cool. An Upside Down Refrigerator also incorporates a freezer, which is located under the fridge compartment. Many people find this more convenient than the conventional arrangement, in which the freezer is on top.
