Appliances Glossary

Gas Cooktop (Gas Cooker).  A gas cooktop is used to provide heat for a pot (or saucepan) via a gas burner.

Gas Fire.  A gas fire provides a low-maintenance form of heating that has many of the attractions of a wood fire without the mess.

Gas Heater.  A gas heater burns gas to provide heat. Some models of gas heater are able to have a chiller unit attached to provide air conditioned cooling for summer.

Gas Heating.  Gas heating gas to provide heat. Some models of gas heating are able to have a chiller unit attached to provide air conditioned cooling for summer.

Gas Hot Water.  Gas hot water systems use a gas burner to heat hot water.

Gas Oven.  A gas oven obtains heat from a gas burner, and provides a constant temperature for cooking and baking of food placed inside.
