RADSL (Rate Adaptive Digital Subscriber Line).  RADSL (Rate Adaptive Digital Subscriber Line) is a variant of ADSL in which the quality of a line is tested at connection startup, and the modems negotiate the maximum data rate that can be supported.

RADSL Broadband (Rate adaptive Digital Subscriber Line Broadband).  RADSL (Rate adaptive digital subscriber line) allows broadband data services to be carried on conventional copper pair telephone cables, with the rate adapting to the line conditions.

RADSL Modem (Rate adaptive Digital Subscriber Line Modem).  In the context of an RADSL broadband Internet connection, the RADSL modem is situated in the customer's premises, and is used to encode signals sent over the RADSL channel to the ISP and decode signals received from the ISP.

RADSL Router (Rate adaptive Digital Subscriber Line Router).  An RADSL router is used in RADSL broadband Internet access to separate a customer's local network from the RADSL network operator's.

RADSL Speed (Rate adaptive Digital Subscriber Line Speed).  A typical RADSL connection has a speed between up to 1 Mbps on the upstream and downstream links.

RADSL Splitter (Rate adaptive Digital Subscriber Line Splitter).  An RADSL Splitter is required in RADSL systems to all a broadband signal and a conventional telephone signal to be carried over the same channel.

RADSL Switch (Rate adaptive Digital Subscriber Line Switch).  An ADSL Switch is a switch that is integrated with an RADSL modem, and possibly other components supporting an ADSL connection.

Repeater.  The repeater is a layer-1 internetworking device that simply re-times and regenerates the frames to transfer data from one network to another.

Router.  A router is a network layer (Layer 3) device that interconnects two local area networks (LANs).
