Information on Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router
An Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router is used in ADSL broadband Internet
access to separate a customer's local network from the ADSL
network operator's network. In order to allow multiple network devices
on the internal network to share a single IP address
allocated by the ADSL ISP (Internet service provider), an ADSL
router normally includes a NAT router. An Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router may provide a number of ports for the local
network; one common configuration provides four 100baseT, 100 Mbps Ethernet
lines.
An Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router is usually integrated with the ADSL
modem.
