Information on High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line

High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line Broadband) is a DSL technology that provides a high rate, symmetric data communication link over conventional twisted-pair copper cable. High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line provides symmetric upstream and downstream data rates of 1.5 Mbps using two copper pairs and up to 2 Mbps using three copper pairs. The maximum range of High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line is 4.6 km, which usually limits its availability.
     Typical applications of High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line include feeder segments from local exchanges to remote nodes, cross-campus connections and as alternatives to T1/E1 repeaters.
