An High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line Router is used in HDSL broadband Internet access to separate a customer's local network from the HDSL network operator's network. An High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line Router is usually integrated with the HDSL modem.
     In order to allow multiple network devices on the internal network to share a single IP address allocated by the HDSL ISP (Internet service provider), an HDSL router normally includes a NAT router. An High bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line Router may provide a number of ports for the local network; one common configuration provides four 100baseT, 100 Mbps Ethernet lines.
