Information on Rate Adaptive Digital Subscriber Line

Rate Adaptive Digital Subscriber Line is a variant of ADSL in which the quality of a line is tested at connection startup, and the modems negotiate the maximum data rate that can be supported.
The negotiation of line rate is carried out using a startup handshaking protocol.
Because it is able to adjust its rate, Rate Adaptive Digital Subscriber Line can operate over may lines over which ADSL operation fails.
