Information on Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router

An Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router is used in SDSL broadband Internet access to separate a customer's local network from the SDSL network operator's network. An Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router may provide a number of ports for the local network; one common configuration provides four 100baseT, 100 Mbps Ethernet lines. In order to allow multiple network devices on the internal network to share a single IP address allocated by the SDSL ISP (Internet service provider), an ADSL router normally includes a NAT router.
An Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line Router is usually integrated with the SDSL modem.
