Information on Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line Speed

A typical SDSL connection may provide 256 kbps on each of the uplink and downlink. Much higher speeds may be available to customers located close to the telephone exchange.
Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line Speed is not the only limitation on the user's speed of access: congestion in the ISP's external network interfaces or internal congestion in the ISP's network can also reduce network speed.
