Information on Bridge

A bridge is a data-link layer (Layer 2) internetworking device that interconnects two local area networks (LANs). A bridge operates at the data-link layer and therefore can only interconnect local area networks of the same type.
     A bridges reads the destination and source addresses in the packets or frames and forwards them on to another local area network segment depending on the address.
