Information on Broadband Router

A broadband router is used in broadband Internet access to separate a customer's local network from the broadband network operator's network. A broadband router is usually integrated with the broadband modem, and supports one of

  • cable
  • satellite
  • ADSL
  • HDSL
  • SDSL
  • VDSL

  •      In order to allow multiple network devices on the internal network to share a single IP address allocated by the broadband ISP (Internet service provider), an broadband router often includes a NAT router. A broadband router may provide a number of ports for the local network; one common configuration provides four 100baseT, 100 Mbps Ethernet lines.
