Information on DSL Speed

The various DSL connections provide different tradeoffs between uplink and downlink speed, and different ranges of speed. The DSL speed available to a customer depends on the limitations of the network and the policies of the service provider. For example, a service provider often charges a higher rate for the highest speed DSL connection.
The speed experienced by a broadband user depends not only on the DSL speed, but on the amount of congestion in the ISP's network and external network connections.
