Information on Ethernet Bridge

An Ethernet bridge is a data-link layer (Layer 2) internetworking device that interconnects two Ethernet local area networks (LANs). An Ethernet bridge operates at the data-link layer and therefore can only interconnect local area networks of the same type (i.e. Ethernet).
An Ethernet bridge reads the destination and source addresses in the packets or frames and forwards them on to another Ethernet local area network segment depending on the address.
