Information on Internet Connection Sharing

Internet connection sharing is used in various versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system to describe a process whereby two or more computers can share a single connection to the Internet, using NAT to generate addresses for the internal network. To share an internet connection, the user selects appropriate options in the menu for network and dial-up connections.
A similar service is provided by a broadband router employing NAT, without the need for any software support on local computers.
