Information on Satellite Speed

The speed available from a satellite broadband Internet access channel may be up to 40 Mbps. On the downlink, coming from the satellite, the satellite speed is usually shared among a large number of users.
     The speed in the uplink direction depends on the channel used. If a telephone channel and modem is used, the maximum speed is likely to be 56 kbps.
