Information on Wireless xDSL Access

Wireless xDSL Access uses a wireless LAN (WLAN) to provide the customer's internal network, with the xDSL broadband modem and router built into the wireless access point.
     The router used in Wireless xDSL Access would usually be a NAT router.
     An important security issue for the user of Wireless xDSL Access is preventing unauthorised people from gaining access to the xDSL broadband connection, and creating traffic that is charged to the Wireless xDSL Access user.

  • Netgear.  Products from Netgear include NAT Router, Ethernet Router, xDSL Router, VPN and PPPoE
  • Netcomm.  Products from Netcomm include Ethernet Router, Wireless xDSL Access, DSL Switch and NAT Firewall
  • 3Com.  Products from 3Com include Wireless Router, Internet Connection Sharing and ADSL Switch
  • Dlink.  Products from Dlink include NAT Router, Wireless Router, PPPoE, NAT VPN and Cable Modem
