An xDSL router is used in xDSL broadband
Internet access to separate a customer's local network from the
xDSL network operator's network. In order to allow multiple network
devices on the internal network to share a single IP
address allocated by the xDSL ISP (Internet service provider), an
xDSL router normally includes a NAT router. An
xDSL router may provide a number of ports
for the local network; one common configuration provides four 100baseT,
100 Mbps Ethernet lines.
An xDSL router is usually
integrated with the xDSL modem, and supports one of
