Information on xDSL Splitter

An xDSL Splitter is required in xDSL systems to all a broadband signal and a conventional telephone signal to be carried over the same channel.
     An xDSL Splitter is a three-port device, with one port for the external connection to the telephone exchange, one for the internal analog telephone connection and one for the internal broadband connection. An xDSL Splitter is a frequency division multipler/demultiplexer, multiplexing outgoing signals to the telephone exchange and demultiplexing signals received.
