Information on MSI

The MSI is a number uniquely identifying a CDMA mobile phone.
     Once a mobile has affiliated, the network allocates a temporary MSI (TMSI), which is used to identify the subscriber in future exchanges. This provides limited anonymity, or privacy.
     The MSI and electronic serial number (ESN) are independent.
