Information on Spectrum

The spectrum is the range of electromagnetic frequencies.
     CDMA utilises spectrum in two bands. The lower band is the same as that used by AMPS. The upper band is the PCS band. CDMA shares the PCS band with GSM and other mobile phone systems.
    

  • AMPS: uplink 825-845 MHz, downlink 870-890 MHz

  • PCS: uplink 1850-1910 MHz, downlink 1930-1990 MHz
