The CDMA visitor location register (VLR) is a database
that contains temporary information about subscribers which is needed by
the MSC in order to service visiting subscribers. When a
mobile station roams into a new MSC area, the visitor
location register connected to that mobile switching center will request
data about the mobile station from the home location register,
reducing the need for interrogation of the home location register.
The
CDMA visitor location register is part of the executive
cellular processor.
