Information on Frequency Division Multiple Access

In frequency division multiple access , each transmitter is allocated a channel with a particular bandwidth and center frequency. All transmitters are therefore able to transmit simultaneously, and the only coordination required is the allocation of the individual channels. Separation is achieved in frequency division multiple access by allocating an individual channel to each transmitter.
Frequency division multiple access is used in GSM to allocate carriers with a bandwidth of 200 kHz. These carriers are shared among a number of mobile stations using time division multiple access (TDMA).
