Information on Cell Broadcast Service

The GSM cell broadcast service allows mobile subscribers to receive information messages by joining a message group. The cell broadcast service allows a message of a maximum of 93 characters can be broadcast to all mobile subscribers in a certain geographic area.
     Typical applications of the GSM cell broadcast service include weather reports, sporting results, traffic congestion warnings and reports on accidents.
