GSM — GSM Power Management

Information on Power Management

Power management is required in a GSM mobile phone to maximise the battery life. Power management attempts to minimise power consumption by powering down parts of the mobile phone that are not currently in active use.
     Effective power management is one of the main reasons that battery life in GSM mobile stations has increased in recent years.
