Information on MNP

MNP are error correction and data compression protocols developed by the modem manufacturer Microcom.
MNP classes or groups of protocols are excellent examples of de facto standards, which are supported by most modems.
However, MNP classes often form the basis for standards—for example, the ITU V.42 error correction standard incorporates MNP Classes 2, 3 and 4.
