Information on ADSL Modem

An ADSL modem (Asymmetric digital subscriber line modem) is used to provide high data rates over standard telephone twisted pair cables.
An ADSL modem is an asymmetric modem, typically providing data rates between 1.5 and 8 Mbps on the upstream link and up to 64 kbps on the downstream link. The transmission speed depends on the quality, wire gauge and length of the copper pair.
