Information on Forward Error Correction
Forward Error Correction describes the adding of redundancy to
a digital transmission to enable transmission errors to be detected
and corrected at the receiver. Commonly used types of forward
error correction code include trellis codes, convolutional codes, Reed
Solomon codes and BCH codes.
