Information on V.17 Modem

V.17 is an ITU fax modem standard. Characteristics of a V.17 modem include:

  • Bit rate: 14400, 12000 or 9600 bps
  • Modulation: 128 QAM
  • Carrier frequency: 1800

     V.17 is used with Group 3 fax systems.
