A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®). A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) provides a framework for project management knowledge areas. Acquirer. The acquirer is the individual or organisation responsible for the acquisition of a system or product within the scope of a project. Acquisition. Acquisition is the process of acquiring the system or product. Acquisition Strategy. The acquisition strategy outlines the manner in which the system is to be acquired. Activity. An activity is an amount of work performed as part of one of the work packages comprising a project. Activity Definition. Activity definition is the act of defining the activities that are required to be performed to complete a particular project. Actual Cost. The actual cost is the cost actually incurred in completing a task, activity, work package, or project.
