Information on Contract Negotiation

Contract negotiation occurs at the beginning of the acquisition phase of a project when the customer has selected a preferred tenderer and wishes to negotiate terms and conditions to establish an agreed contract that will cover the project. Normally only one tenderer is chosen for contract negotiation, although parallel negotiations may be undertaken with a number of tenderers. Contract negotiation is an important activity as the resultant contract will dictate the events for the remainder of the acquisition.
