Information on Request for Proposal

The request for proposal (RFP) is the process (the document) by which an acquirer (a buyer) calls for tenders from potential developers (sellers). Once responses have been evaluated, the acquirer may invite one or more of the tenderers to contract negotiations. After successful contract negotiations, a contract may be signed. The request for proposal is sometimes call a request for tender (RFT), request for quotation (RFQ), or an invitation to bid (IFB).
