Information on Team Development

Since projects are conducted over a finite period of time, the project team is normally only formed for the period of the project and then dispersed afteward to other parts of the organisation or to other projects. Team development is therefore a very important part of ensuring that the project proceeds well. Team development initially involves forming the team but it then involves maintaining the needs of the team throughout the project. Project management relies very heavily for success on the people involved, which means that the project manager must devote a significant amount of time to team development.
