Information on Work Breakdown Structure

A work breakdown structure (WBS) provides a hierarchically structured decomposition of the activities (grouped into work packages) that are required to be completed to complete the project. A work breakdown structure consequently defines the scope of a project by defining all the work that needs to be completed. For military and defence projects the requirements for work breakdown structures is contained in MIL-HDBK 881.
