Information on Work Package

A project comprises a number of packages of work, each of which comprises a number of activities. A work package is the basic building block of a work breakdown structure. A work package is normally defined to be a number of activities that can be allocated to a project manager to plan and execute. In that regard, a work package is a small discrete project (subproject)
