Information on AWACS

The AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) is a system mounted in a Boeing E3 aircraft that provides airborne surveillance and command and control (C2) functions.
     Using its onboard radar, the AWACS can detect and track air, ground and sea targets. The AWACS tactical data links (TADILs) allow informatinon about these targets to be passed to other platforms.
