Information on Range Resolution

The concept of range resolution is closely related to the concept of blind range in that it is dictated by pulse width. Range resolution is the ability of the radar to differentiate or resolve two targets that are close together in range. Assume two targets are approaching the radar from the same direction (that is, one target is following the other). If the two targets are separated (in range) by greater than the range resolution of the radar, the radar can resolve the two targets and provide the operator with two returns. If the targets are separated by less than the range resolution of the radar, the radar can discern only one return and displays a single target to the operator.
Blind range and range resolution are calculated using the same equation.
